Destination wedding of Jean & Nadia
- Created on Friday, 08 May 2015 17:27
This was another wedding at the beautiful Lavierge Venue in Hermanus, South Africa. This beautiful couple booked me from overseas. This was a destination wedding for them in the beautiful South Africa. I met Jean, the husband the morning of the wedding. My first impression about him was that he knows exactly what he wants and he makes sure it happens. He is such a gentleman.
Nadia's hair & make up was done at a salon in the Hemel and Aarde Valley just outsite Hermanus. This is also where I met her for the first time. About 3 hours before the wedding. She and her mom was sitting alongside each other and they was getting ready for the big day. Nadia got an amazing personality and such a lovely smile. At that stage I knew this will be a wedding to remember in future.
When she walks down the isle you could see that there is a magnet connection between them. This was their moment and they give it all. Here is some more photos.
Model portfolio shoot with Thenicia
- Created on Thursday, 05 March 2015 18:47
It was for me one of the best model portfolio shoots I've done over the past year. Thenicia is a very talented lady and she can rub shoulders with the top models in the world. This is the first time that we’ve been working together on a model shoot and you all will agree that it’s WOW. I believe one should always be unique and have your own style and stand out above the rest. Thenicia is an example of someone who is different but yet so perfect in her own way! Only you can be you!

This wedding was very modern. It was also one of the weddings where I traveled the most. Nina was getting dressed in Athlon. The ceremony was at a Church in Cape Town and the reception was at Kronenberg in Paarl. More than 200 guests attend this lovely Cape Town wedding.
Zukie and James love story.
- Created on Wednesday, 04 June 2014 18:51
I believe that every woman deserves to have their own love story. This is the story of Zukie and James. It was my pleasure to photograph their wedding day. What started off as friendship eventually blossomed into love. There was an instant connection. This is that special moment when you know that this is the one. Zukie was busy finalized her divorce at that stage. After her divorce Zukie decided to follow her heart. In no time Zukie and James, became more than just friends. They both decided to give it a change and they start dating. Zukie and James finally decided to convey their feelings and their decision to date with the family. To their surprise the family provided them with the support they so desperately need. James became more caring and supportive to Zukie. The fact that they worked for the same company became convenient to spend quality time together. His romantic way of spoiling her with gifts touches her heart. You don't need expensive gifts. It's the small thing in life that brings them more close together. Zukie and James know each other for more than ten years. They became more comfortable in each other's presence. He decided to take their relationship to the next level. He proposes to her in a most special and romantic manner and in no time she said yes. Zukie and James have their love story. Do you? Glamour shoot with Martinette
- Created on Tuesday, 03 June 2014 18:49
The town Montagu is well known for his Muscadel. Some of the most beautiful girls in Cape Town area also came from Montagu. I remember in 2000 I did do my very first model portfolio there in Montagu. The models name was Haneli. I still got the film roles from that shoot. 3 role of Fuji 100 color and one Black and white film roll. I recently done a glamour shoot with another beautiful lady also from Montaqu. Her name is Martinette. She almost got the same model look as Haneli. Here are a few examples from the shoot with Martinette.

El-david & Deidre's dream wedding
- Created on Sunday, 11 May 2014 13:20
The wedding of El-David and Deidre was one of my biggest weddings for this year. The wedding ceremony was at Ezekiel Place just outside Worcester. If you maybe know this place then tries to imagine around 200 guests there with their vehicles. When we arrived there with the bride for the ceremony we had to wait for them to make space for our vehicles. I was one of the lucky ones and could drive up all the way. The ceremony was outside with excellent weather conditions. All the photos and couple photos were all done at the same venue to get back into the time line for the day. It was challenging, but that's why we are experience photographers and at the end everything works out perfect. The reception was at Worcester town hall. The Bridal couple also manages to see the venue before anyone else could see it. Perfect planned. And the food.... Mmm it was out of this world!
Model shoot with Chantelle
- Created on Sunday, 04 May 2014 14:57
Chantelle is a Leading game ranger at the well-known Fairy Glen Game reserve in Worcester. Fairy Glen Game reserve is around 120 km from Cape Town, South Africa. Chantelle is a real Tom boy, but she is also a real lady. This model, glamour, portfolio or whatever you want to call it is a first for her. I think she looks gorgeous in the photos. Somebody contact me the other day. They want to use one of the photos for their brand on a big billboard. Not bad for a farmer girl playing model.
Hennie & Janine's wedding celebration
- Created on Sunday, 04 May 2014 13:25
Hennie and Janine's wedding was very small and intimate in Worcester, Cape Town. This wedding made me thought back of my own wedding in November 2007. We also chose to keep our wedding small with only best friends and family. Hennie and Janine's wedding has no time limit and I've heard afterwards that they have celebrate till early morning and was spending time with friends and close family. Hennie's birthday was the day after the wedding. It was perhaps one of the motivations to celebrate the wedding till midnight.
Tariq & Monique's Cape Town wedding.
- Created on Monday, 28 April 2014 14:08
To be a wedding photographer in Cape Town with all this beauty here is one of my biggest assets. I've done a few Muslim weddings in the past and also a lot of Christian weddings in Cape Town area, but I've never done both weddings in one day with the same couple. This was definitely a first for me. The Muslim ceremony did start at 10 am and the Christian wedding was around 2pm. And above all it was a rainy day with heavy storms. We choose our location for the photos very carefully. Tariq & Monique came from different back grounds, but love brought them together. Both of their families are such lovely and open minded people. All of them only wants the best for this new wedding couple.
Wedding day with Riaan & Nita
- Created on Tuesday, 22 April 2014 19:41
Riaan and Nita declared their love for each other on a very special day. Their wedding was sealed with the exchange of rings. This wedding day will forever be recorded in their family's history books. One does not always think how important one's wedding day really is. It's the beginning of a family and a long way forward together. It's the day you promised your wife and husband to travel with each other in good and difficult times. Riaan and Nina are very much in love and you do not have to think twice if they do match. They are a winning team. Their wedding day they celebrated at the Brandvlei dam side nearby Rawsonville . Riaan is a fire man. Fire fighter will be a better word to describe him. He stands back for nothing. A fire that he will never blow out is the fire of love between him and Nina. It burns. May you two be together forever and have many special moments. The wedding day was a true symbol of love, friendship and companionship.

If you think of the word "friend" then you can immediately divide it in two categories. True friends and faked ones. Fake friends always have hidden agendas and they use the other persons for their own benefit. In a stage in our lives I'm sure we all know or have a fake friend. When you grow up as an adult it is important to grow into that person people can rely on. A fake friend is someone that is still a 'child' in many ways. The Google search explains a friend as a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically one exclusive of sexual or family relations.
Maritza and her girlfriends booked me for a friends shoot. They are 6 lovely girls with different personalities, but they have one BIG thing in common. They are good friends. Although some of them are married they still make plans to spend time together. To handle six lovely ladies in one shoot was fun and I enjoyed it. The shoots was done near Worcester, 120km from Cape Town in South Africa.
Fouche & Mariette's Wedding day
- Created on Sunday, 23 February 2014 19:51
Each person has their own story to tell. True love will always be part of someone's story. Some people have found and others are still looking for it. Fouche and Mariette's story of true love also run a long way and finally they decided to marry and promising love forever. They knew they were meant for each other and they always want to be together. Fouche is a farmer on their family farm between Worcester and Villiersdorp in the Western Cape. It's around 120km from Cape Town, South Africa. It was a unique wedding at Aan De Doorns Cellar and on the end of the evening Fouche and Mariette's could say that their wedding day was a success. It's shared with family and friends who are very close to their heart. Most important of all is of course that they are happy. It was a wedding they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Farmer girl shoot with Moreen
- Created on Tuesday, 11 February 2014 19:05
Moreen is one an adventures lady that doesn’t stand back for anything. She like a challenge and are always ready for anything. I met Moreen and her mother around 12 years ago. I did photographed her model portfolio back then in film. I will post a few of that photo at the bottom of this blogpost. Back then it was straight out of the camera. Photoshop didn’t even exist. Here is a few photos I did take of here a while ago. Almost 12 years after her first photo shoot with me.
Now I will post a few examples of her model portfolio shoot more than 10 years ago.
The quality of the film photo example is not like today digital photos. This is examples of how she looked more than 10 years back. Not much has change. She is now happy married with her husband, a farmer from Villiersdorp. around 100km from Cape Town, South Africa
Glamour portfolio shoot with Anel
- Created on Wednesday, 29 January 2014 18:18
Time stands still." This is a well-known saying, but Anel is still young. She is easily seen as a fashion model and at work they called her their own model. She is a teacher by profession and certainly we can learn something from her. Her inner beauty radiates outward and she is a real country girl that is comfortable in casual and high heels.
She attended school in Worcester and studied in Wellington. Two years ago I was the lucky photographer to photograph her wedding with Jason, her husband. She and Jason are an elite couple and the honeymoon never stop.

Your matric farewell is one of the highlights in your life on earth. A matric farewell is actually a turning point in every person's life. This is a celebration where you leaving your school years behind and stepping into the real world. It is huge. Danielle's matric farewell was an important event in her life. I was happy to photograph a few before shots for her at her home in Worcester, Cape Town, South Africa. She is one of 4 sisters and all 4 are unique in their own way. They all grew up in a strong religious and happy home.

"One happy big family." I'm sure we all hear this slogan on many ads on TV. To be part of a family does not happen overnight. You must be born into the family or you married into the family. This specific Worcester based family are definitely one big happy family. You always feel welcome at their house in Worcester and they always busy organizing something to do together as family. If you go a few blog posts back you will see I once did a trash the dress shoots with this Horn family and a maternity and newborn shoot. It's really nice to have clients always come back for your photography services.
